John Gotti was an Italian-American mobster who was the boss of the Gambino crime family in New York City from 1985 until his arrest and conviction in 1992. He became known as the "Teflon Don" because numerous charges against him failed to stick. Gotti was a central figure in the New York City organized crime underworld during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He died in prison in 2002.
Charles Herbert Gotti is the younger brother of John Gotti. Although he was never a boss of the Gambino crime family, he was involved in the criminal underworld and was indicted in 2002, along with several other Gambino family associates, on charges of racketeering and money laundering. In 2004, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
